CCYS Programs for 2023-24

The following gives a general timeline of CCYS soccer offerings during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.

FALL (AUGUST TO NOVEMBER)

  • InTown (Concord-Carlisle Youth Soccer - CCYS)

  • Travel (Boston Area Youth Soccer - BAYS) 

  • Club (Strikers United East - Formally Liverpool FC International Academy)

  • Skills Clinics

WINTER (NOVEMBER TO MARCH)

  • Pick Up Soccer - November to December

  • Futsal - January to March

  • Club - One practice per week

SPRING (MARCH TO JUNE)

  • InTown (Concord-Carlisle Youth Soccer - CCYS)

  • Travel (Boston Area Youth Soccer - BAYS) 

  • Club (Liverpool FC International Academy)

  • Skills Clinics

The following gives a general description of CCYS soccer offerings during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.

INTOWN PROGRAM

The InTown program runs from September to November (Fall Season) and from April to June (Spring Season).

Players are PreK through 4th Grade.

  • The InTown program provides and introduction to soccer for younger players.
  • Teams are organized by age and school district (not by ability).
  • Players are coached by volunteer coaches (usually parents).
  • Simple 'practices' and games are played on Saturdays in Concord or Carlisle; older grades may have an additional weekday practice.
  • Teams play exclusively against other Concord-Carlisle teams.

The emphasis of the InTown program is on:

  • Having FUN
  • Developing skills
  • Being part of a team
  • Learning discipline (following coaches' instructions)
  • Sportsmanship
  • Having FUN

Results, goals, and MVP awards do not matter. This is a developmental program with the focus on HAVING FUN!

TRAVEL PROGRAM

The Travel program runs from September to November (Fall Season) and from April to June (Spring Season).

Players are 3rd through 8th Grade.

  • The Travel program is a more competitive program and requires a greater commitment than the InTown program.
  • The program is for players with an interest in improving their ability and game understanding.
  • Teams are organized by ability (not school district).
  • Players are coached by volunteer coaches (usually parents), but all teams have access to CCYS professional coaches.
  • Practices are held once or twice each week (Monday to Friday afternoon or evenings).
  • Games are played on Saturdays according to the BAYS schedule.
  • Teams play against teams from other Massachusetts towns in the BAYS league.

The emphasis of the Travel program is on:

  • Having FUN
  • Developing skills
  • Being part of a team
  • Learning discipline (following coaches' instructions)
  • Sportsmanship
  • Having FUN

Results, goals, and MVP awards do not matter. This is a developmental program with the focus on HAVING FUN!

CLUB PROGRAM – STRIKERS UNITED EAST - (FORMALLY LIVERPOOL FC INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY)

  • The Club program runs from August (Fall Season) to June (Spring Season) and includes indoor Futsal or indoor practice (Winter Season).
  • Players are 2nd through 12th Grade.
  • The Club program is for players with a strong interest in improving their technical skills and game understanding, a willingness to work hard toward achieving these goals, and the maturity to work with their teammates and remain focused during practices and games.
  • Teams are selected based on formal evaluations and tryouts.
  • Players are coached by CCYS and New England Revolution  professional coaches.
  • Practices are held twice each week (Monday to Friday evenings) during the Fall and Spring Seasons, and once per week during the Winter Season.
  • Games are played on Sundays (Fall and Spring Season).
  • Teams play against other club teams from across New England (usually within 45 min driving distance).

The emphasis of the Club program is on:

  • Having FUN
  • Developing skills
  • Learning tactics
  • Being part of a team
  • Being committed and learning to train
  • Maintaining focus and discipline
  • Sportsmanship
  • Having FUN

Results, goals, and MVP awards do not matter. This is a developmental program with the focus on improving the skills of individual players within a FUN TEAM environment.

SKILLS CLINICS

The Skills Clinics program runs from September to November (Fall Season) and from April to June (Spring Season), and is open to players in all CCYS programs.

Players are 2nd through 8th Grade.

  • Midweek coaching and practice sessions.
  • Run by CCYS professional coaches.
  • Players should have a strong desire to improve their skills.
  • Players perform drills and exercises to develop a full range of soccer skills: Passing, Dribbling, Receiving, Shooting, Volleying, Foot Work, Defending.

The emphasis of the Skills Clinics program is on:

  • Having FUN
  • Developing technical skills
  • Maintaining focus and discipline (following coaches' instructions)
  • Having FUN

PICK UP SOCCER

The Pick Up Soccer program runs from November to December (Fall Season) and possibly from July to August (Summer Season), if there is sufficient interest within the CCYS community, and is open to players in all CCYS programs.

Players are 2nd through 8th Grade.

  • No coaching and as little adult intervention as possible.
  • Teams are picked randomly for each session.
  • Players are separated by gender and grade level.
  • Games are midweek in Concord and Carlisle.
  • Players are from Concord and Carlisle.

The emphasis of the Pick Up Soccer program is on:

  • Having FUN
  • Developing skills
  • Scoring goals
  • Experimentation
  • Thinking for yourself
  • Sportsmanship
  • Having FUN

Results, goals, and MVP awards do not matter. This is a developmental program with the focus on HAVING FUN!

FUTSAL

The Futsal program runs from January to March (Winter Season), and is open to players in all CCYS programs.

Players are 2nd through 8th Grade.

  • No coaching and as little adult intervention as possible.
  • Kids play pickup Futsal.
  • Teams are picked randomly for each session.
  • Games are played indoors on hard floors (usually basketball courts).
  • Players are separated by gender and grade level.
  • Games are midweek in Westford, Concord, Carlisle, and/or at Middlesex School.
  • Players are from Concord and Carlisle.

The emphasis of the Futsal program is on:

  • Having FUN
  • Developing skills
  • Scoring goals
  • Experimentation
  • Thinking for yourself
  • Sportsmanship
  • Having FUN

Results, goals, and MVP awards do not matter. This is a developmental program with the focus on HAVING FUN!
